Privacy Policy
Family privacy comes first.
This archive is built to share reviewed ancestor information while protecting living people, private family material, and submissions that still need review.
Collection
What the archive may receive
The archive may receive names, email addresses, correction notes, source citations, relationship context, memories, photos, audio, video, documents, and reviewer notes. Submissions are collected so family stewards can evaluate accuracy, privacy, source context, and publication permission.
Public Archive
What public visitors can see
Public pages are limited to reviewed ancestor profiles, family lines, timeline events, source notes, and contribution pathways. Public pages should not show living-person dates, addresses, private notes, unapproved stories, private media, or family-only records.
Reviewers
Who reviews submissions
Approved family stewards and archive reviewers may inspect submissions before anything appears publicly. They decide whether material stays private, needs more source context, should be corrected, or can be published safely.
Publication Decisions
Submissions are not automatic
Submitted memories, corrections, photos, documents, and source notes go into a review process. A submission is not public just because it was sent through the site, and a reviewer may keep it family-only even when the contributor prefers public use.
Living People
Living-person details stay limited
Public pages should not expose living-person birth dates, addresses, private notes, or sensitive family details without explicit review. Living-person context may be withheld, generalized, or moved behind family access.
Family Access
Approval can be limited or revoked
Family-only material requires approved sign-in and separate access rules. Access may be changed or revoked when family stewards determine that privacy, consent, or review status requires it.
Submitted Media
Permission must be reviewable
When you submit media, include what you know about who created it, who appears in it, where it came from, and whether anyone should be contacted before public use. The archive may keep media private until permission and privacy are clear.
Corrections & Retention
Ask for correction or removal review
If something appears incorrect, private, or not ready for public view, use the contribution form to request a correction or removal review. Review records may be retained long enough to preserve source trails, privacy decisions, and archive stewardship context.
